Before running my own business I worked at a well known global financial services company, going from determined graduate to thriving director by the time I was just 27. 

 

Whilst I was a top performer for the company for 10 years, inside I was burnt-out from aimlessly climbing the ladder, competing with male counterparts and battling for the salaries I knew I deserved (and that male equivalents had!). 

 

When I fell pregnant, my priorities shifted further. I could no longer (and didn’t want to) keep up with the relentless hustle that I was conditioned to want and chase. I’d reached a point in my life where I looked around the office and thought “What am I even doing here?”. With no one in the company to help answer that question, I quit in search of something more meaningful with the flexibility and remuneration I knew I deserved. 

 

Knowing my experience was echoed by many women across the country, my purpose became clear. I retrained in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and launched ‘Emily Button Coaching’ in 2019, with a focus on not only coaching women in the same position I was in, but supporting clued up business leaders who are ready to tackle Gender Equity and truly support their female talent.
